St. Vincent Find!

Is I walking around St.Vincents, I saw this old, beat up cabinet laying outside. Yes, it was covered in massive amounts of rat poop, pine needles, and cob webs-but I saw major potential! I asked how much they wanted for it, and to my excitement, they said $2.00! Whoop whoop-Score! Took it home, washed it down with bleach, and then started painting it. Then, after looking at Lowes for some chicken wire, and not wanting to pay $20.00 per roll, I went over to Habitat for Humanity and a found a small roll of wire for $3.00- another score! This was meant to be, I told myself. So, after all my hard work, this is what came of that sad, poop filled cabinet.... Primmalishious! Love it!!!

Braided Rug Heaven...

The other day, I was searching for some 2x4's for the hubby on Craigslist under the "free" section, when I saw it.... "3 Braided Rugs- Great Shape.....FREE." I couldn't believe what I was reading considering they are so expensive. I emailed her right away and told her I would pick them up now. She called back and gave me her address. It was 40 minutes away from my house, but SO completely worth it! I dragged my high school buddy, Brittany, with me so I didn't have to go alone, and along the way, we sucked down Bart's Root Beer and had a burping contest! We laughed so hard, we almost peed ourselves.... Ahhhh, good times! And... I got my rugs that I've wanted forever!!! Yay!

Primmy/Shabby Chic Table!

Well, I've been looking at this old barn window in my garage for the past few weeks thinking "What am I going to do with this?" Then it came to me... A table! So, I took 4 posts that I got at a yard sale for $1.50, and some reclaimed barn wood I had laying around, and... Ta-Daaa! I think it turned out super cute! Of course, safety came first as I was cutting the wood for the side slats.... You diggin' my cool eye wear? Can't wait to see what the hubby thinks!

Thrift Store Fun!

Today as I was going through my photos on my phone, I came across several that my sister and I took on one of our "adventures." Yes, we enjoy trying on the things we find, re-create movies with our thrift store props, and basicly laugh so hard we almost pee our pants... Don't judge. LOL Even some of the other shoppers can't help but watch and giggle. Seriously, try it! It'll give you just another added "perk" when you're going thrifting or antiquing with your family or friends! So, here are a few of the photos I came across... They always make me laugh. Especially when I asked my sister to be a crazy bag lady... I literally almost peed right there..... Ahhhh, memories. Enjoy!!

Jadeite...

As I was sipping my coffee this morning, I decided to call my sister, Marci, to see how's she's been, and to tell her about the cool Antique store I went to the other day. I proceeded to tell her that were so many things in there that she would have loved, and how I started to get a little sad that she wasn't there with me. "What kind of stuff?" she asks.... "Oh, just a few things here and there, plus a set if Jadeite that you'd love..." A screech came through my cell... "WHAAAAT?!" Jadeite, Marci.... "Get in your car right now and get it....NOW." But, Marci... I don't have the money... (cuts me off) "I'm driving to your bank, putting in the $, plus the cost for shipping... Get going!" Ummmm.... OK.
LOL- Guess she wanted them, you think? I'm shipping them to her this week.... Crazy girl. ;)

Red, White, and Blue!

So, as I was out and about today, I came across an antique store that I've never been to.... Say it isn't so! Did I give my little black Jeep some whiplash as I did a quick u-turn you ask?? Yeah, I did! Poor Jeepie.... Anyway, I came across this awesome 1942 advertisement that is going to go perfect with my red, white, and blue theme above my mantle for the 4th of July! What's even better? I only paid $1.00 for it! Loooove it! :)
